Not that new gear is bad, if bought for the right reasons. It's just that ever photographer's skill level would shoot through the roof if they fully mastered their current camera before rushing out to buy the latest and greatest. Keep sharing your insightful thoughts! Your article reminded me of a quote from Brooks Jensen that I remind myself of whenever I get into the gear envy or new gear to motivate me mood:

Not that new gear is bad, if bought for the right reasons. It’s just that ever photographer’s skill level would shoot through the roof if they fully mastered their current camera before rushing out to buy the latest and greatest.
