I can commiserate. Have you noticed social networking helping your sales at all. To date, I’ve had 0 sales, but I’ve been online, and networking for <1 week…I don’t have *that* high of expectations!

Thanks for this and all of your great posts; I’ve admired your work for a long time, and now am happy to follow your blog.

John Dvorak had a piece on marketwatch.com (I think) the other day about social networking and it’s use in business. basically, he thinks it’s a waste- who wants to read ads? I don’t bother with self-publicity sites, as I’m not in business and don’t need to self-promote. Guess I’m just an old fogey (and loving it). Don’t tweet. twitter, facebook, etc., and don’t care to waste my time “following” the random comments of those who have nothing better to do (and little to say).
Fad du jour. It boils down to the egomaniac saying: well, enough of me talking about myself, what do you think about me?
That said, I enjoy you work (have several prints) and commentary on “anti-social” sites! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your honesty. Being a bit of a social butterfly myself, I’ll clue you in on a secret – nobody cares more about what you are doing than you do (not “you” personally, “you” in general). So when you come across those questions “what are you dong, what’s on your mind,” just keep in mind people don’t REALLY want to know, it’s just an opportunity to get your name out there… and subsequently your website, your images… If privacy issues plague you, simply promote your work all the time! You are right, it’s a killer way to attract business and IMHO an important facet to a modern day approach to marketing.

BTW, do you really want your archives on the bottom of the page? That’s how your page loaded on my computer. Cheers!
