Allergies kept me from my original plans and necessitated staying in Northern Utah last night. The feline alarm woke me up long before dawn and I decided to welcome the new day by the Great Salt Lake.
Thanks to my Twitter friends for the concern!

man.. I wish I had landscapes that beautiful and calming available under a few minutes notice!
Hi Guy.
The light is fantastic and leaves me with a mix of coldness and warmth.
Love the textures and vastness of the landscape.
Thanks for sharing.

I got one of my best shots due to the feline alarm clock, and I am eternally grateful to that cat. She and I have a much better relationship now, and I often catch her with that “I told you so” look.
Sorry to hear about the allergies, I suffer from some form of them as well. And the shot has a nice soft feel, perfect for morning.

I am so glad your cat wanted you to take this photo! Super sweet shot, Guy. The colors are so, so nice. I love the foreground and how the morning colors are evident in the whites.
Hello Guy, I have admired your photography in Outdoor Photographer. I am an allergist and a nature photographer. Your comment about the aspens really echo with me…I feel a profound sadness at the loss of aspens to the blight, and feel fortunate to have seen them lush and full in previous years. I do hope the aspens will recover their glory.
All the best with your photography.
