I had to think about this a moment until it made sense to me. Lately on certain photography forums I’ve seen many images some chosen for “Weekly Pic” winners that are obviously nothing more than a plain jane image with a quick one click filter applied to it. Seems to be no creative process at all that took place, the photographer relied on a piece of software to be creative for them. I guess for me that is the ultimate in laziness. Even though hard work in itself has nothing to do with creativity it can if applied properly be a spawning ground for a multitude of creative thought processes. Where as not much thought need be put into laziness.
Thanks, Brad! This is actually in reference to posts I have seen where the image is a well-worn copy of other people’s creative efforts, yet we are led to believe that it is somehow elevated from the original by the number of exposures blended, miles hiked, and dragons slayed to create it.
“dragons slayed to create it.”…funny …love that … I had to think about myself and see I am creatively lazy… and I found that to an extend I was… not anymore… But I have many images as a result of my creative laziness Really need re-evaluate myself here…
