Allergies kept me from my original plans and necessitated staying in Northern Utah last night. The feline alarm woke me up long before dawn and I decided to welcome the new day by the Great Salt Lake. Thanks to my Twitter friends for the concern!

Few experiences are as humbling as witnessing the sun rise over the Grand Canyon. Looking down thousands of feet and two billion years, surrounded by a silence as ancient and impressive as the view itself.
