WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

IMPORTANT! Please read before signing up to our workshops:

Although rare, there is always the possibility that we may choose to cancel a workshop, and we reserve the right to do so at our discretion for any or no reason. Should we decide to cancel, we will refund your registration fees in full. If you are concerned about recovering other expenses, please consider purchasing travel insurance.

If you wish to cancel your participation for any reason, you must do so in writing (e-mail or regular mail).

Refund Policy

  • If you wish to cancel your participation and can find someone else to take your seat, you will receive a full refund minus our payment processing fees (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, etc.) once that person pays in full.

  • If you cancel 60 days or more from the workshop start date and cannot find someone to take your seat, you will receive a full refund minus a $500 administrative fee and our payment processing fees (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, etc.)

  • No refund will be given if canceling 59 days or less from the workshop start date.

We make NO EXCEPTIONS to our refund policy. Workshop income is an important part of our livelihood. Given our limited group size, an empty seat on a workshop is a significant loss to us. If you are concerned about recovering your costs due an emergency, we recommend purchasing travel insurance.

MAY I SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT DATE AFTER I ALREADY SIGNED UP FOR A WORKSHOP?

Given the challenge of back-filling open seats in close proximity to workshop start dates, we only allow transfers if you can find someone to take your original seat. Please carefully consider your chosen dates before committing to registration.

WHAT KIND OF WEATHER SHOULD I PREPARE FOR?

It is impossible to predict the weather when arranging a workshop. Most of our workshops are scheduled in times when we may encounter a range of temperatures from extreme heat to extreme cold, dry conditions or heavy precipitation. Participants should arrive at the workshop prepared for all weather conditions and temperatures.

IS THE WORKSHOP APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN OR YOUNG ADULTS?

For liability reasons, we do not accept minors under the age of 18.

MAY I BRING A NON-PHOTOGRAPHER SPOUSE/FRIEND ALONG?

Due to limitations imposed by the National Park Service, we have a hard group size limit and our goal is to fill all spaces with paid participants. Spouses, friends, and other non-photographers are welcome to join as paid participants, or they may find other activities for themselves while you are in class or in the field with the group.

WILL I PAY FOR MY OWN LODGING AND TRANSPORTATION?

Unless otherwise stated, lodging and transportation costs are not included in the workshop fee. We reserve a block of rooms at our preferred lodging rate to ensure that everyone has a place to stay, but it is each participant’s responsibility to reserve and pay for their own rooms, meals, and transportation. We provide complete instructions upon registration.

I'D LIKE TO SAVE SOME MONEY. CAN I CAMP RATHER THAN STAY AT A HOTEL?

In most cases, camping is available close to our meeting location. We provide (optional) camping instructions upon registration
